Bartira is a dedicated ballet educator and RAD Examiner with a rich background as both a professional dancer and teacher. Originally from Brazil, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in Education and Outreach, and is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program, where she received the prestigious Carol Chadwick and Betty Oliphant Awards. She is currently on faculty at Canada’s National Ballet School.

Bartira has extensive teaching experience in Brazil, Portugal, and Canada, working with students of all ages—from young children to advanced pre-professionals. Her approach blends technical excellence with inclusivity, kindness, and a deep respect for the art of ballet. Certified in RAD, Cecchetti, and Pilates, she is also trained in YPAD safety, dementia-inclusive programs, and anti-racism in ballet education.

She is passionate about nurturing each student’s individuality while preparing them for exams, competitions, and lifelong appreciation of dance, and she is happy to be joining the Yi Dance team of ballet teachers.
