First Steps Program (Ages 4–6)
A gentle introduction to dance for young learners. This program is designed for children beginning their dance journey, using both Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet and Beijing Dance Academy Chinese dance methodologies. Students build coordination, musicality, and confidence while laying a solid foundation from the very beginning—all in an engaging environment where they can learn and have fun at the same time.Classical Ballet Foundations (Ages 5+)
Rooted in the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, this program trains students from recreational levels to vocational standards. With over 100 years of history, RAD is recognized worldwide as the leading ballet training system, emphasizing strong technique, posture, and artistry. At Yi Dance, students learn under the guidance of highly qualified faculty, including multiple RAD Examiners (out of only 200 worldwide) and over ten RAD-certified teachers, making our school one of the most authoritative ballet training institutions in Canada. An immersive program in Chinese classical and folk dance, using the official Beijing Dance Academy syllabus—the national standard in China. At Yi Dance, students are supported by Dance Conditioning classes and the guidance of our renowned faculty. Designed as an add-on program for highly dedicated students, this track provides elite training that goes beyond core classes. In addition to refining artistry and stage presence, students cultivate qualities such as confidence, discipline, resilience, teamwork, and leadership. With personalized coaching and performance opportunities, this program prepares dancers not only for competitions and professional pathways but also for success in life. A specialized program for qualified senior students who aspire to become certified dance educators. This track provides step-by-step preparation for RAD Registered Teacher certification and Beijing Dance Academy graded teacher qualification. Students train under the direct guidance of RAD and Beijing Dance Academy certified teacher mentors, gaining unparalleled insight into both Western and Eastern pedagogical traditions.
